UHF RFID Reader, designed for a variety of RFID scenarios
(Scroll down for full description)
The UHF RFID Reader has a range of approximately one (1) meter, although this specification is significantly dependent on the particular RFID tags being read, and the substrate the tags are attached to. Via the API, the Reader also includes the ability to write, or update, the data stored on RFID tags.
The North America version of the UHF RFID Reader is certified for use in the USA, Canada and most of South America. A Sample Tag Pack is available separately, and contains an assortment of nine RFID tags for use in rugged environments. The tags, from four manufacturers, have a range of performance characteristics and are compatible with various substrate material types and shapes.
Compatibility with the Nomad handheld
The UHF RFID Reader is compatible with all Nomad 800, 900 and 1050 models running Windows Mobile 6.1 and 6.0 or Windows Embedded Handheld. The UHF RFID Reader is compatible with RFID tags designed to the EPCglobal Gen2 standard. The Reader is compatible with all Nomad feature combinations, having no adverse impact on GPS reception, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, and so on. The impact on battery life is comparable to using the barcode laser scanner (on Nomad computers so equipped), and will vary by individual usage patterns.
